Copyediting
Light: I'll focus on correcting indisputable errors in spelling, grammar, syntax, and usage.
Medium: Includes everything in a light copyedit, plus more substantial rewriting for concision, and basic fact checking.
Heavy: Includes everything in a light and medium copyedit, plus meaningful improvements to style, readability, and flow.
Line Editing
A line edit helps to ensure that your article or manuscript is as effective as it can be. With greater attention to individual style, the goal here is to tighten up sentence structure to improve the clarity of your ideas. This service will provide a deeper investigation into these more “big picture” elements.
Proofreading
Proofreading is typically the last step in the process towards publication. While proofreading, I check for mechanical errors such as typos, incorrect punctuation, inconsistencies, and word confusion. When applicable, I can also check for layout errors, and compare a final proof against previously marked corrections.
Manuscript Evaluation
An evaluation could be a one-time service for a project nearing completion, or it could be an ongoing arrangement where you share sections of writing in progress in order to receive more regular coaching and feedback. This service would involve conversations around a manuscript's strengths and weaknesses, goals, and intended audience. It could come in the form of a comprehensive report, or less formal and more regular communication via phone, email, or Zoom.

All projects are unique, therefore pricing them is too. Project costs are based on the type of service, the number of words, and the depth of editing required.
